Bernina Australia kindly sponsored the Berry Quilt & Craft Show at the beginning of May. Sponsorship was in the form of a Bernina Bernette Sewing Machine, Bernette sewing machine as first prize for the best overall judges award for the children’s section.
Veda FitzSimons pictured above, took out this award from Bernina with her quilt pictured left which she made for her cousin Zara. The judges, Kerrie Hay from Bernina & Merelyn Pearce from Gerroa, both agreed that Veda's quilt should be awarded first place. They both commented on her quilting ability, the reasons behind the making of the quilt. They were also amazed that Veda's quilt had been quilted on an old 1222 Pfaff. When the judges walked us through the children's awards & why, it was all I could do not to burst into tears with excitement.
The Noodle Bag right, has been made from a gorgeous damask top & from a Japanese fabric below. It's a cute little bag & easily made in a day. Amanda is offering two dates; Monday 14 September or Saturday 10 October. Class starst at 10am until 3pm & costs $55 including the pattern.
